Best of luck! I also reckon that this bloke is maybe the reason they're hiring - I suspect that top mgt knows on some level that this bloke is becoming a problem, and are sorta kinda hoping you'll fix it for them so they don't have to. You can lose your temper and make a fuss or, preferably, zip the lip and grin and bear it - for a while. If this is still a problem in a month, go to HR and ask for a secondment to another division as per previous comment. For your professional development. This may force mgt's hand and require them to actually get off their butt and sort the situation, or they'll be hiring again which is expensive.
