Summary: the ceasefire did not hold, Kurds are withdrawing and doing a general mobilization, Kobani is under siege, imprisoned Islamic State fighters broke out of an abandoned prison, etc. The Syrian civil war has basically started again.

This is a good time to remember all the people talking up the hope of the uprisings. Yay, they are throwing off the yolk, I must admit I uncharacteristically for me bought into it a bit, and nothing better ever resulted from any of these countries.

That is something to keep in mind with places like Iran, even though they are not I do not think at a civil war stage, despite what Israel and the US may feed to our media to tell us. But if they were, it would end up like this, multiplied by several factors. Nothing good would come of it.

Obviously Iran right now is still de facto at war with Israel and the US and the latter just associated the protesters with them, they will be ruthlessly crushed. Pawns to be sacrificed. Except the chess analogies assume a level playing field.
