This is actually more important than people may think.

I'm not a US gun nut, more of a US gun nerd.

Gun Owners of America... is... basically the super libertarian, even more pro gun rights than the NRA, gun organization in the US.

They are even more bull-headed and uncompromising than the NRA when it comes to total 2nd Ammendment rights.

They're not as large or powerful as the NRA, but they are almost certainly the second biggest gun lobby group type thing in the US.

If they're saying this... there is a decent chance that a lot of the more libertarian than conservative gun owners are going to listen.

Then they go on to softball the rest:

  • GOA also called on “the Left” to “stop antagonizing immigration and border patrol agents who are taking criminals off the streets and play a crucial role in protecting communities and upholding the rule of law.”

Fair point!

I'm not trying to glaze GOA, I'm just honestly shocked they said anything critical at all, given the overall situation.

She ends her statement with "Finally, the Left must stop antagonizing immigration and border patrol agents who are taking criminals off the streets and play a crucial role in protecting communities and upholding the rule of law."

So don't get excited. At the absolute best they might say this one murder was over the line but they won't be rallying to any movement. And that's generous.

Makes you wonder what those paramilitary militias in the USA think about ICE.

That is exactly what I am getting at.

GOA has... a fair bit of pull with, or perhaps importance to a lot of those types of folks.

Venn Diagrams and near perfect circles, and all that.

The NRA is a gun control group
