“Everything I’ve done, I’ve done at the direction of the president and Stephen,” Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem told one source who relayed her comments to Axios.

Kristi Noem said that slain ICU nurse Alex Pretti wanted to "inflict maximum damage on individuals and to kill law enforcement." Carlos Gonzalez/The Minnesota Star Tribune via Getty Images

Pretti, 37, was legally carrying a handgun when he was tackled by multiple federal agents, but video shows he did not brandish the weapon. Agents can be seen on video disarming Pretti before firing numerous shots into him while he was on the ground, killing him.

This part, afaik, lies with the officers who fired the shots, and then moves directly up the 'chain of command'. I suspect they were told that things needed a little stirring up, so someone a level up ordered that group of agents to murder someone in cold blood, that day. Prove me wrong. Or let the charges be filed. Let the arrests begin with Noem, and Miller, and end with the grunts that did the dirty work.

Edit: @corsicanguppy@lemmy.ca commented that it is difficult to impossible to prove a negative. And I agree from a logic standpoint this is true. With the new day comes additional information, so I say, Fine, then, prove me correct. Let the agents stand trial for 1st Degree Murder, which tho' I am not a lawyer, I still suspect this is a crime in Minnesota. Let the jury decide if it is beyond a reasonable doubt that these agents committed 1st Degree Murder, planned, and purposefully.

No, it's simpler than that. No conspiracy here, just individual revenge.

Pretti got into an altercation with ICE a week ago, and they broke his rib. He got in their way again and they executed him.

That's what we're dealing with. No oversight, and supervisors actively looking the other way whenever possible as long as they bring bodies into the camps.

Nytimes just character assassinated pretti.

Of course they did. They have always been right leaning at a minimum, often regurgitating the talking points with an air of centrism for cover.

They reported on video, without showing it, repeating ice claims he spit on one.

100 percent that is false I am sure just as he was not trying to massacre cops later. He did kick a tail light, which they showed a still from the video.

Not shiwing the video and repeating dhs with no counter even is just boldfaced lying for the admin.

It's just a wordle platform at this point. Can't even do a crossword puzzle without pay wall.

I'm not sure which is worse. smh.

Demanding someone prove a negative is a poor debate tool. This one looks unintentional, of course, but just know that no one can prove you wrong.

So, let's assume stupid until we learn otherwise. Is that the 4th amendment or the 5th? Remember what Fonzie taught us about wrongs and rights.

Fair. How about this: People were killed and harmed in other ways by ICE/CBP, not just these two. There IS such a thing as the 'chain of command'. The agents that performed the actions of killing, etc., without due process did so under orders from their commanders up the chain. File charges, arrest, investigate, and adjudicate. Are you cool with that Homie?
