“Everything I’ve done, I’ve done at the direction of the president and Stephen,” Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem told one source who relayed her comments to Axios.

Kristi Noem said that slain ICU nurse Alex Pretti wanted to "inflict maximum damage on individuals and to kill law enforcement." Carlos Gonzalez/The Minnesota Star Tribune via Getty Images

Pretti, 37, was legally carrying a handgun when he was tackled by multiple federal agents, but video shows he did not brandish the weapon. Agents can be seen on video disarming Pretti before firing numerous shots into him while he was on the ground, killing him.

When is the Night of the Long Knives?

[–] Red_October@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

Come on, there's plenty of room under that bus for both of them, public transportation is efficient like that.

[–] Wilco@lemmy.zip 6 points 1 day ago

You do not have to follow unlawful orders. Not in the military and not for a shitty political party.

This was a conspiracy to commit murder, "go start riots by attacking protesters so marshal law can be declared prior to midterms" Murderous traitors.

[–] Asafum@lemmy.world 95 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Man they're really going for Nazi 2.0 with "I was just following orders" and all

[–] ilinamorato@lemmy.world 41 points 2 days ago (3 children)

Speedrunning the Third Reich, the Confederacy, and the Nixon Administration all at once.

[–] VieuxQueb@lemmy.ca 6 points 2 days ago

More like, The Turds Reich.

Don't forget the fall of the Roman empire.

[–] ilinamorato@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago

Honestly, I kind of hope so. It didn't go well for the emperors or politicos or the nobility, but the average lower-class person's life substantively improved when Rome fell.

[–] hector@lemmy.today 4 points 2 days ago

We are not in 400 ad, we are in the 1st bc. In the time of Sulla, a generation before caesar, in the agrarian revolt and civil wars and him becoming dictator for life, 10 years, and killing and stealing the assets of his rich pals that supported him because they feared moderate reforms under the populares. This is increased oligarchic repression in a terminally sick republic.

[–] pdxfed@lemmy.world 10 points 2 days ago (2 children)

And nearing The Day After Tomorrow combined with Children of Men.

28 days later not far off.

This country is possibly the worst position it could be in if we were to have a zombie outbreak. RFK would probably promote zombie parties to get your kids exposed to the zombie virus

[–] hector@lemmy.today 2 points 2 days ago

Taxoplasmosis. A brain parasite, it affects the fear center. As much as 30 percent could have it, explains a lot. That is where they spread it.

Rats, mice that get it lose their fear of cats. All mammals can get it though.

Yeah, but it takes real racism to put them all back together!

Who gives a fuck who told her to violate the Constitution - imprison them

The party of personal responsibility

[–] Atelopus-zeteki@fedia.io 12 points 2 days ago (2 children)

This part, afaik, lies with the officers who fired the shots, and then moves directly up the 'chain of command'. I suspect they were told that things needed a little stirring up, so someone a level up ordered that group of agents to murder someone in cold blood, that day. Prove me wrong. Or let the charges be filed. Let the arrests begin with Noem, and Miller, and end with the grunts that did the dirty work.

Edit: @corsicanguppy@lemmy.ca commented that it is difficult to impossible to prove a negative. And I agree from a logic standpoint this is true. With the new day comes additional information, so I say, Fine, then, prove me correct. Let the agents stand trial for 1st Degree Murder, which tho' I am not a lawyer, I still suspect this is a crime in Minnesota. Let the jury decide if it is beyond a reasonable doubt that these agents committed 1st Degree Murder, planned, and purposefully.

[–] halcyoncmdr@piefed.social 8 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago) (2 children)

No, it's simpler than that. No conspiracy here, just individual revenge.

Pretti got into an altercation with ICE a week ago, and they broke his rib. He got in their way again and they executed him.

https://www.cnn.com/2026/01/27/us/alex-pretti-protesters-minneapolis-invs

That's what we're dealing with. No oversight, and supervisors actively looking the other way whenever possible as long as they bring bodies into the camps.

[–] hector@lemmy.today 3 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Nytimes just character assassinated pretti.

[–] halcyoncmdr@piefed.social 7 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Of course they did. They have always been right leaning at a minimum, often regurgitating the talking points with an air of centrism for cover.

[–] hector@lemmy.today 3 points 2 days ago

They reported on video, without showing it, repeating ice claims he spit on one.

100 percent that is false I am sure just as he was not trying to massacre cops later. He did kick a tail light, which they showed a still from the video.

Not shiwing the video and repeating dhs with no counter even is just boldfaced lying for the admin.

Demanding someone prove a negative is a poor debate tool. This one looks unintentional, of course, but just know that no one can prove you wrong.

So, let's assume stupid until we learn otherwise. Is that the 4th amendment or the 5th? Remember what Fonzie taught us about wrongs and rights.

[–] Atelopus-zeteki@fedia.io 3 points 2 days ago

Fair. How about this: People were killed and harmed in other ways by ICE/CBP, not just these two. There IS such a thing as the 'chain of command'. The agents that performed the actions of killing, etc., without due process did so under orders from their commanders up the chain. File charges, arrest, investigate, and adjudicate. Are you cool with that Homie?

[–] ramenshaman@lemmy.world 27 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Throw Stephen under all of the busses please. Especially the literal IRL ones.

[–] Lost_My_Mind@lemmy.world 7 points 2 days ago (1 children)

If we're throwing all the assholes under literal busses, Greyhound stock is about to go through the ROOF!!!

[–] DreadPirateSnuggles@lemmy.ca 1 points 1 day ago

I know I'd pay for that ride

Then drop it into reverse and do it another 330 million times.

[–] saimen@feddit.org 5 points 2 days ago

So if they would have told her to jump from a bridge she would have done that as well?

I mean it's great that she throws them under the bus and admits their guilt but that doesn't free her from her guilt.

[–] starik@lemmy.zip 20 points 2 days ago (2 children)

As long as it’s never Trump’s fault

[–] saimen@feddit.org 5 points 2 days ago (1 children)

But this is what she's saying

“Everything I’ve done, I’ve done at the direction of the president and Stephen,” Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem told one source who relayed her comments to Axios.

[–] starik@lemmy.zip 2 points 2 days ago

True. I think I was responding to the headline, which leaves Trump out of it. It’s another example of how the media has been covering the ICE situation. It’s all Stephen Miller, Noem and Bovino’s fault, and now, after multiple gratuitous murders, Trump is “softening” his stance. They make it sound like Trump is the reasonable one, when he was the one who appointed all of these people and stoked racial hatred against Somalis and others.

[–] Zephorah@discuss.online 14 points 2 days ago (3 children)

I’m pretty sure Alzheimer’s has claimed the man and when he tries to drop dead of natural causes they’ll just put him on a ventilator and keep on doing what they’re doing.

[–] sp3ctr4l@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

At this point I woupd not be surprised if they keep him hooked up to some kind of arcane machine and continue their religion/ideology based around fulfilling his will.

You know, "God Emperor" things.

Yeah, they're using him, not the other way around.

It's a matter of time before someone spits in their coffee. For now they can just go fuck off.

[–] diablomnky666@lemmy.wtf 2 points 2 days ago

You think they've ever had coffee that didn't consist of >5℅ spit?

[–] TomMasz@lemmy.world 14 points 2 days ago

They're all in it for themselves.

I’d trade Dogkiller for Count Orlaff

[–] nonentity@sh.itjust.works 0 points 1 day ago

He’s frequently under a bus, whenever one drives over his bridge.

[–] magnetosphere@fedia.io 5 points 2 days ago

MAGAt infighting! Yay! I’ve had a lousy day so far, but this is putting a smile on my face

[–] supersquirrel@sopuli.xyz 5 points 2 days ago

I don't know how to feel about this, I feel bad for the bus or maybe I am jealous of what the bus gets to experience my emotions are confused.

[–] bizzle@lemmy.world 3 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Trump, Stephen Miller, and the rest of this administration should be executed on the national mall. Elon too fuck it

[–] Formfiller@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

And Larry Ellison, Peter Thiel, Curtis yarvin, every politician on the Epstein list and every politician taking AIPAC money should be tried for treason
