"Just spend 30 minutes organizing your room. Whats the big deal?"

Thirty minutes is a long time to experience pure and total mental anguish.

And if you’re like a lot of people with ADHD, that room’s in such a state that even a neurotypical can’t organize it in 30 minutes. I used to get so overwhelmed that I’d get paralyzed and end up crying. It doesn’t help that my parents didn’t teach me HOW to organize and clean - they just expected me to somehow know already. Then whatever effort I made was never enough, so I eventually figured, “What’s the point?”

Holy shit i have finally done it. It wasn't even that bad, once i started. If i keep it organised, i don't have to do it again or it will be easier.

And then the cycle continues. I did that shit for 3/4 of my life, and i'm so happy i found a system that works for me, but damn, one slip up, and i'm back where i started

I'm happy for you! And its OK if you slip again. Progress is never a straight line.
