The story of Ayman Abu Soobuch (Sobuh) is fascinating. It demonstrates how Palestinians suffer not only from oppression due to Israeli occupation, but also from the terror of the armed resistance against fellow Palestinians.

Sure you can dismiss this video as a propaganda piece featuring a traitor to the Palestinian cause. However I find this a fascinating peek into a reality, that’s rarely seen.

The real lives of people are more complex than the black and white narratives often presented .

He was born in Gaza and taught to hate. Today, he lives in Israel as a Jew. This is his unbelievable story. Get his inspirational true-story book on Amazon: https://amzn.to/4rirO2B In this exclusive interview, we hear directly from a man whose life story defies belief. Born and raised in Gaza, he was indoctrinated from a young age to hate Jews and destroy Israel. His path was set: join the terror infrastructure and fight. Instead, he chose a different path. Speaking from the shadows he reveals: The reality of growing up in a Hamas family in Gaza. The turning point that made him question everything he was taught. His dangerous escape to Israel. His spiritual journey from Islam to converting to Judaism. This is a raw, unfiltered look at the human side of the conflict and the possibility of change even in the darkest of places.

Here’s a recent poll of what Palestinians want. Support for continued armed struggle on one side and negotiations and peaceful resistance is about split. Support for the most realistic option for peace in the form of two states in at 44% currently.

I personally know Palestinians, who work towards peaceful coexistence in two or one state. They hate Hamas with a passion. Their stories about the lack of free press and free speech in Palestinian society under Hamas and the PA are disturbing. They have to be very careful to not suffer serious consequences.

I’m not saying Palestinians don’t want peace. Their political leadership has made lots decisions, that turned out badly for Palestinians. Israeli politicians have made a ton of terrible decisions as well, especially Natanyahu.

Israel does a lot of things, I don’t approve of. The settlement and occupation of the West Bank and Gaza has to end. Palestinians deserve a better life.

There are structural reasons on both sides that enable the continuation and worsening of the conflict. These feed each other in a spiral. Israel is more powerful and has more responsibility to change. However Palestinians have agency as well and something needs to change as well.

Arafat recognized Israel and stopped armed resistance, Israel continued the occupation and ethenic cleansing. Israel is the only reason why Palestinians are not free. No amount of lies and removing context with change the fact. None of your bullshit will make people think you do not support genocide. You are just doing victim blaming
