Now if only there was an engine that was not made in the US that fits the Gripen?

When it was announced a few months back that Ukraine may buy 100+ Gripen, I expected they would state that Motor Sich would build the engine, SAAB everything else.

It is a huge job to replace the engine of a fighter jet, they will not use another engine until they replace Gripen with the next generation.

Am am sure there is a internal program at Rolls Roycle to design such an engine for rapid development if needed. Probably for the F16 engine also.
