UK Politics
General Discussion for politics in the UK.
Please don't post to both !uk_politics@feddit.uk and !unitedkingdom@feddit.uk .
Pick the most appropriate, and put it there.
Posts should be related to UK-centric politics, and should be either a link to a reputable news source for news, or a text post on this community.
Opinion pieces are also allowed, provided they are not misleading/misrepresented/drivel, and have proper sources.
If you think "reputable news source" needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread. (These things should be publicly discussed)
Posts should be manually submitted, not by bot. Link titles should not be editorialised.
Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
Message the mods if you feel something really should be removed, or if a user seems to have a pattern of awful comments.

This is a well written article with many sensible recommendations. Almost revolutionary as far as MPs go, let alone an ex prime minister.
However, he still supports Starmer within it. He talks about justice for the victims and yet gives his full support behind one of the people involved.
Mandelson betrayed Brown, this is personal for him, but he was and still is within the New Labour anti-left cabal.
Lessons need to be learned, absolutely, but he's not taking his own advise and wishes to keep the current corrupt management still in place.
Many are supporting Starmer because they fear that Starmer falling could start a sequence of event resulting in PM Farage.
I personally think if Labour actually used it to pivot, and then follow through on the "change" they promised at the election, it could be a blessing in disguise.
The chances of getting PM Farage are even greater the longer Starmer stays in.
