As someone who's never had a problem "being the product" I've since changed my tune thanks to AI.
The less software I have spying on me, the better.
(I'm sure they're not straight up spying but you have to be screen grabbing / recording to make this work)
And why did that change your mind?
The abuses they did do with it and could have done with your data before ai weren't enough to concern you but amalgamating that data with countless others to have it abused that way is too much for you? Even tho they literally already were doing that exact thing before AI was available with basic data science?
Using your data to take advantage of every human weakness they could figure out was already happening but NOW your not OK with it? Like has it made you rethink everything or just nah turn you off now cause your ingroup doesnt approve of it coward bullshit?
The law could have changed at any time to turn you into a criminal based on the public data you intentionally gave away. They could have arrested you for supporting the wrong cause, emailing the wrong person or exploring the political ideas they didnt like or arrested people in your network because it gave them access to THEIR data as well (google android push notifications, messages, emails stored on their networks like your friends replys, Facebook messages, snapchats, all for sale if they wanted it to be)
And its not sounding like your reflecting on it so much as your simply moving on from being a blissfully ignorant, happy and from the sounds of the comment, enthusiastically willing participant in it all despite all the evidence to the contrary the entire time? That's fucked up beyond the usual
