"Sunset" of the Volgograd Oil Refinery

On the night of February 11, operators of the 1st Separate Center of the Unmanned Systems Forces carried out a strike on the Volgograd Oil Refinery.

The Volgograd Oil Refinery – one of the key oil refining assets of the RF (property of "Lukoil") with a capacity of up to 14-15 million tons of oil per year.

What this means in practice:
β€’ After modernization, the plant produces large volumes of Euro-5 standard gasoline and diesel. β€’ It provides fuel for the southern regions of the RF and military logistics infrastructure. β€’ It is one of the largest taxpayers in the Volgograd region.
β€’ It forms part of the RF's oil product export potential (after 2022 – reorientation toward Asia and the Middle East).

This plant is an element of fuel security, logistics, and foreign currency inflows for the opponent. When such facilities stop – supply chains stop, budgets lose funds, and the system begins to fail.
