Other than the white on slightly-lighter-white Mac ~~menus~~ toolbars, the thing that drives me nuts on the iPhone is that it never feels like I’m really pushing buttons. It feels like I’m stabbing at a blob of gel and hoping that I hit it the right way to get what I want. And oftentimes I don’t. It’s maddening.

The guy responsible for Liquid Glass left Apple. Hopefully that means they untangle this mess over the next year.

Apple never admits they made a mistake. They also don't tend to fix issues quickly unless somehow forced. They ignore it as long as possible.

It will take more than a year. It will likely take until they replace Liquid Glass with whatever comes next. Probably something named after Ice to keep with the water themes for their UI design language.
