Shoggoth doesn't need Lovecraft to make itself known to man.

"itself" is an odd choice of words. There is no Self in a Shoggoth. not even an "it". A snail has more Self than a Shoggoth. It only has any kind of existence when an Old One concentrates on it and makes it move. Like an AI when nbody is asking it questions.

It did feel weird saying that.

Those spiral sqiggles and hatch lines remind me of that outsider artist who had thousands of unpublished journals with illustrations. There has got to be something about this. Not mentioning it or linking to it because it is NSFL.

remind me of that outsider artist who had thousands of unpublished journals with illustrations.

that narrows it down to only 75% of outsider artists or so

You'll have to chase it down, which I do not recommend, it's Epstein level material but worse. It's a TOS violation on this site. He did this for decades Edit: it's not worse. His was all fiction but Epstein really did those horrid things to children.

I wonder if it's some kind of common motif or Jungian archetype which disturbed people see. We are still in the 'four humours" stage of psychology and a few decades from now we're going to understand ourselves so much better .
