Actually I tried to pull it myself on Saturday. A found a nice vice-wrench to do the job, then sterilised it. So I went ahead, and tried to go really slow and gentle because 1) I'm a bleeder, and 2) the last thing I want is to break off a root. It took forever though, and I wound up falling asleep, with the tooth still in my skull.
Meanwhile, I found a 4th place to try, and will schedule on Monday. So far all three of my 1st candidate dental offices had some problem or other...
