~93 miles. I would argue probably too much. Most people are traveling <30 miles/day in US. Probably a whole lot less in JP. That's why most PHEVs are 30-40 mi.

Would be great for me. Right now I wouldnโ€™t even average one day a year of 93 miles but once a week I do about 40 miles and once a week about 60 miles. Iโ€™d do more weekend trips with this and my cars almost 15 years old now so this would be up my alley in the future

It could have the benefit of being usable for longer as batteries degrade, especially if you can cap the charging to 80% or something to slow down wear.

not an issue with modern batteries

Are they no longer lithium ion? Seriously asking.

Modern car producers don't know about that, because they still provide options to cap the charging level.

I have a 55km commute to my work. This is the reason I got a lynk & co 08. That PHEV has 200km of range. 200km of range is like 130km range in the winter. So I just make it to work and back again.

In northern Europe, so winter means winter

under 50 miles in cold weather

[โ€“] artyom@piefed.social -1 points 1 week ago

Still a whole lot more than 30.

I would LOVE to have 150km plugin range, my daily round trip is around that, which would mean I would basically never need to use gas, even when it hits -30C (I can slow charge at work so range loss wouldn't be an issue at that range).

Honestly, I would love a full electric with a 700km range even more, since that would mean I could do day trips shopping/take the car camping without getting range anxiety.
