I'm convinced that this and the other weird films they did were broadcast at times to deliberately fuck with people watching TV on drugs.
Oh 100%. They were definitely firmly in that "acid trip/stone as hell" genre of shows and animations. The whole vibe of adult swim fit that.
Adult Swim Off the Air is great background noise for acid trips
Lol you don't need to be convinced. It started with late night infomercials and slowly evolved into the Brady Bunch.
I think they're all on HBO (or at least were a year or two ago).
The Sarah Sherman one is absolute madness.
