I wouldn't know, I can't even afford the diagnosis.
Don't. You'll end up in an RFK work camp
Don't be silly, it's not like the US has a history of deeming that certain groups of people are inferior to others and forcing them into involuntary labor.
Can you talk more about that or why that is? Why is assessment such a problem where you are?
I mentioned it once to my Primary doctor, and he went on a rant about how those are "performance enhancers" and anybody would be able to function better on them and essentially said that he refused to let me cheat life that way.
My insurance has a stupid high deductable, so I have to pay everything out of pocket, so I'm not bothering with the search and paperwork required to talk to a mental health professional.
K First of all, there are non-stimulants. A diagnosis is seperate from "gets amphetamines/speed". Ask him to let you try atomoxetine if he doesnt believe you
Also, Has to be a psychiatrist usually too eh, dont get pawned off on a psychologist before you investigate if thats a guranteed route to a legally and medically valid D^x^, they might be able to help you perform better but often they cant diagnose you with the good kind of diagnosis that gets meds and accoms. Its like an "I'm in love with the boy"/"The Best things in Life are Free"/ Temu "diagnosis" otherwise even tho it could give you valuable coping skills/life skills a psychiatrist can't focus on
Fucking sad, the state of ADHD assessments/access. It abs should not be as fucking hard as it is. I was super priviledged in how mine went down in a publicly funded system (even then I wouldnt saybit was a cakewalk for someone way less adept at moving thru the system as I am) but i know tons of people even here struggle to get past even like referralc, let alone assessment+diagnosis+prescribed by GP
America is god-level/boss-level ADHD land. It seems that system is alwaya fucking set up in a way that lets the elites do or get whatever they want easily and leaves everyone real behind in the dust
