The PS5 is essentially just a PC anyway, you just need to get through the Hypervisor BS as this guy did. It has AMD CPU/GPU inside, so it's just a matter of making the kernel drivers detect what I imagine to be standard AMD RDNA2, but a custom identifier GPU detect and go to work.
Nice job though.
Didn't ps5 just get hacked at the bios or kernel level iirc allowing it to have a custom OS installed
Quite awhile ago, but that's not the barrier here.
I'd like to do this to mine..I haven't even plugged it to the internet. Just a glorified 4k blurry player.
only console that isnt just a PC with gate keeping is the Switch. Which is just basically a fancy tablet with gatekeeping.
The Switch hardware is so close to Android tablets (and Nvidia Shield) that the OS was almost based on CyanogenOS (Venture capital version of CyanogenMod (was a fun Android ROM back in tho day))
i'd say its just an upgraded shield thats badged for nintendo.
