The writers of Earth have really given up. They kept implying some cool sci fi universe flip but it’s just cyberpunk dystopia with repeating plot lines.

The American plot line didn't work out. They were not that popular with the main audience and seen as too loud and obnoxious. The story is moving focus to Asia. It was a major influence of cyberpunk after all.
