The writers of Earth have really given up. They kept implying some cool sci fi universe flip but it’s just cyberpunk dystopia with repeating plot lines.
The American plot line didn't work out. They were not that popular with the main audience and seen as too loud and obnoxious. The story is moving focus to Asia. It was a major influence of cyberpunk after all.

Actually we fired all the creatives and replaced them with a large language model trained primarily on social media posts.
Cyberpunk dystopia without the cool neon aesthetics.
They're still working on the plot for that, but are feeding us reruns in the meantime.
