Anyway for mine the potato PC was low 5 digits (one was 15,000) of my currency

This is meaningless. 15000 pesetas are 90 euros, but in Spain the actual cost would have been the same before and after the Euro (if prices had been converted 1:1, of course) independently of it being 5 or 2 digits.
