P cool project. the offline wikipedia, maps, khan academy, 'medical references, survival guides, ebooks' are the bulk of it, getting that stuff on media(USB sticks, external SSDs) and putting them in a bug out bag is what I'd recommend rather than or in addition to this. They're less likely to break, OS independent, easier to transfer than having it stored on a working machine
I feel like a locally run AI model dedicated to accessing your own pirated content is the one use case where AI doesn't earn an eyeroll
that's a fair position, I'd be a bigger fan if it included a regular search function in addition to it
But I'd still be wary using an LLM to summarise safety critical information and not miss out important stuff/possible hulicatnations
I detest GenAI and the consequences of its development, but I have to admit I have vibe coded a couple automation scripts and a webpage. I took the AI output as a first draft and I've polished them. I only see AI as a intern in terms of competence. Good enough for simple tasks but you always need to coach it.
