They're saying that if 90% of all games that exist were new each year, the number of games that would have to release each year to achieve it would be exponentially increasing and therefore unsustainable. The facts are simple math.

You're right, I did! In my defense, it's been 20+ years since I've played it. Maybe I should change that.
The ‘Revision’ is a good mod for a modern resolution and some other stuff. Free on Steam for those who bought the game itself, although ironically it didn't work with that version for me, but worked with a pirated one.
Personally I disabled all the map modifications. But the original game scripts have some bugs that ‘Revision’ can fix.
If you have a beefy PC, check out Surreal 98! The end goal is to have VR support for UE1 games like Deus Ex or Unreal Tournament. It's still in early access and will be for some time, but it's already looking pretty good.
