Obviously it'd be better all around if he never had a stroke to begin with but I feel like it's nice to hear his poems and notice the significant improvement in his dictation in each one.

So many people get shit that's impossible to recover from and strokes affect such a vital part of the person so it's just kind of nice to know someone's recovering nicely.

I can’t remember which exact set of episodes it was, but sometime in last year maybe, and like the change in his verbal communication was incredible, between the two shows. In the most recent of the two, he almost sounded like the old Christman in terms is speed and tone, albeit with some strange phrasing. It warmed my heart immensely.

It must have been so shocking and frustrating for him; he was such a good speaker/ really interacted with the world via elaborate speech, and consistently find yourself blocked or hampered must be so incredibly challenging.

Like you, obviously I wish it had never happened in the first place, but I’m hopeful that the struggle and effort he’s been dealt will give him a silver lining of some sort (beyond being alive of course) in that he’s had to really work his way back fluency.

In any case, very glad he’s improving, wish him and his family all the best.
