Why? Do you disagree that the video became a part of not only Australian, but also the global zeitgeist? National archives should preserve culture as whole, not just what is labelled as high culture.
More along the lines of..."this is something that happened and we must know about it". A tiredness for the eternal strain on what is already an overburdened sensory overload. I would like things like to have heard of things like this as if they were fable...no, that's not right, there's just too much shit already, why add to it?
No one needs to know everything. In fact no one can know everything. It's fine you don't want to know about it. Why would preserving anything put any strain on you?
But that is what is required in the world today. Knowing everyhing. You seem to be oblivious to this. Apparently this is an ok place to be. I wish I could be there.
