that is a very kind gesture. i have a client who brings me mcdonalds coffee and you know what? hell yeah i don't have to get up and get a cup of coffee i fucking appreciate that.

The coffee isn't wasted - just the fancy part of it. It's pretty good coffee though. They've got a proper espresso machine too.
Absolutely not complaining here. I'm so fucking delighted to see how nice most people actually are. I really do enjoy the human encounters in my job which I'm surprised to say.
As someone who doesn't drink coffee, but enjoys making proper cortados for my partner, the coffee is not wasted.
Your customer is proud of what they make, and you present an opportunity to show off so the effort is as much for them as for you. Compliment them on it, even if it's not your style, and they will appreciate it immensely.
