I can see the image. Is there a set of contacts on whatever door or cover goes over the panel? It could be some kind of power accessory connector for an aftermarket or dealer installed option. That looks like a set of contacts for powering something with relatively high current like turn signal or brake lighting. It is less likely to be something like a communication bus. Those types of contacts are usually intended for something that will be installed and removed a lot or where the contact points may experience dynamic stresses. Sorry if this general electronics info is not what you're looking for or helpful.
Might be aftermarket. This socket is inward from the glovebox, so something on the door that would connect to it would have to stick out significantly.
