I mean, we have very little context here. But how I currently read it I'll have to agree with the "No". If you go to a party then you'll obviously run the risk of getting ill with COVID or something else like the flu, but at the moment you run that risk pretty much everywhere. COVID, the flu, and the other viruses are no longer a threat to any functioning health system. They're still a threat to many individuals, but that in and of itself is not reason to stop living your life. At some point we've concluded that the pandemic is over and the risk is no longer big enough to stop living our life. And that unfortunately means that some immunocompromised people run a big risk, but we can't stop enjoying our lifes forever or protect a few people.
It's scary how many people have the attitude that the person above does. It's so easy to just avoid being around people when not feeling well. In fact, it's always been the general expectation. It's been an eye opener seeing how many people think they're being oppressed because we ask them to consider other people around them.
I feel the same about people who take some sort of sick pride in coming to work when they're sick. Stay the fuck home, people! No one wants your disease.
They think having to wear a mask is some sort of atrocity on par with the Trail of Tears, too.
I admit i didn't think we'd be seeing people just straight up doing whatever they can to help a deadly pandemic.
I worked in healthcare for a couple years, and we had to regularly mask up. The number of people I encountered who had conditions that caused them to not be able to breathe in a mask was zero.
Post-pandemic, people acted like they were dying if they were asked to wear a mask. Such a simple thing, and the masks were freely given, but people still refused.
People suck.
You're trying to put words in my mouth that I didn't say. I do think it's a good idea to stay at home while ill, personally I even wore a mask the first day after having the flu when going to the store. But right now basically everyone I know is having something, whether it's the flu, COVID, or the common cold. You can stay inside while ill, but you can't just stay home the moment you have some minor cold symptoms. Life goes on, at some point you'll need to work and get groceries etc. We should take precautions, but we shouldn't panic for every minor cough.
Once more, I don't know the full context of the people in the image, so it's very hard to say anything.
It's about "a night out." You ... you know what a "night out" is, don't you??? And that it's not an essential part of life? Not something you should do, even when experiencing minor symptoms? You agree with me on this?
If not, then I'm not "putting words in [your] mouth." If you think having a night out while symptomatic is acceptable, then you are saying exactly what I think you're saying, and I'm right to call you out for having such a shitty selfish belief.
If not, then maybe you can clarify this. Because the post is not about getting groceries (which, for the record, you can mostly order online and pick up/have delivered anyway).

Am I missing some context for the original post? The above commenter didn't say anything about getting sick and going out, I read the comment as being about going out in general.
Many people just cannot do that because their employers will not pay them sick days, let them have enough sick days, or pay them enough to fund their own sick days.
Did the person in the thread mention being sick?
COVID is still more deadly than any modern disease, excepting AIDS and the Spanish Flu, and it's currently killing lots of people. Just because we're having a collective delusion about COVID being harmless now does not make it so. (Nor does refusing to collect data on it.) Reality is still there even if you stop believing in it, etc.
Seasonal flu is still out there. Nobody thinks it doesn't kill people. But can't shut down everything because of it either. Same for corona.
COVID is 10x as deadly as the flu and far more contagious. In 2021, when half a million people in the US died to COVID, they didn't even bother to count flu deaths because they were so low. We accidentally wiped out whole strains of the flu.
This attitude of "we can't hurt business no matter how many people die" is insane.
