You can tell you're dealing with the most obnoxious liberals in the planet when every second word they use to describe the people they hate is a made up internet baby word. They gotta call us tankie, authie, pepe loving freaks, or whatever, and they don't realize how ridiculous they sound. The only substantial claim they can make is that we love Russia (wrong) and China, and they always fold when they have to actually defend their chauvinist views on China when someone hits them with real evidence. Jeez, the internet has thoroughly broken so many of our brains.
Well thankfully it was liberals complaining like this that brought me to hexbear, I saw someone saying it was full of trump supporters, that they were tankies, and I was like, if they are 'tankie' communists why tf would they like trump? It is hard to tolerate the way people argue on any comments outside of here now lol.
We love our hollowed out husk of a state whose only redeemable trait is that they represent a marginally progressive social force when compared to the great satan, don't we folks?
They are dying for our freedom, unironically. Russians have made the greatest sacrifices to fight waves of millions of militarized fascists in the last century yet everyone on the left still belittles them and mocks them
It's a different thing to feel solidarity for Russian conscripts, who are locked into a neverending conflict against the forces of imperialism since 1918, and to say you love the state of Russia after it was privatized and sold out to the lowest bidder.
It's Russian volunteers primarily doing the anti-fascist fighting and ridding Europe of Nazism. Russia didn't have to save Syria. They didn't have to save Kazakhstan and Belarus. They are an anti-imperialist force for good.
Russia being the victim of looting doesn't make me hate them, it makes me support them even further. They are the victim of being sold off and looted, why would that make me hate them? Yeltsinite forces have no sway in the government now. There's this weird trend in the Western Left where they resent modern Russia for the collapse of the USSR instead of correctly directing that anger at themselves and their anti-communist left formations. It's a form of victim blaming and projection.
