Back when this was made like 5 years ago, you might get away with that. Today? I wouldn't point a sharpie at someone.

I'm not sure the acceptance of gun pointing has changed that much since 2019?

I think costume and location are the bigger factors.

Well it seems to be Mexico, and the previous commenter may have meant 2018, forgetting that it's currently 2024

He even has the same gait

Good way to shot. This clearly isn't in the south US

[-] 13esq@lemmy.world 24 points 1 year ago

Imagine living in a country where "good way to get shot" is a normal turn of phrase and not absolutely appalling.

[-] Cold_Brew_Enema@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

Yep. America

Or run over in the rest of the world. I might not have a gun, but I do have a right foot and a gas pedal.

Almost the entire rest of the world would automatically assume it's a fake gun and enjoy the well known and well made costume.

It's pretty much only America where "LETHAL FORCE IS NOW MY ONLY OPTION" is a normal line of thought.

I don't want to use deadly force, but if you're coming at me with a gun, demanding cash? Then I'll try to get away, and if you're standing in front of the car, then I can't guarantee that I'll be able to avoid you.

Even when they're clearly dressed as an extremely well known Disney character?

[-] BigDanishGuy@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 year ago

I'm not saying that I would be aiming at the guy, but I could understand if somebody was going to floor it to escape the possibility of a car jacking or murder attempt.

With an airsoft gun, since it has a red tip. Maybe he shouldn't point it at a person, but still - people are too sensitive.

video about guy threatening with fake gun gets his change

US is so triggerhappy, no other country will have the same

You are trying way too hard brother. Calm down. Its not that you dont know shit, but you dont care to make sensibly nuanced statements.

I love irony

[-] Just_Pizza_Crust@lemmy.world 6 points 1 year ago

Street performers treat audience members differently. I bet he keeps the toy gun holstered for randos, however once someone's entertained by the bit and recording, he can make a robbery joke.

[-] Anticorp@lemmy.world 14 points 1 year ago

He nailed the drunk personality, although he's probably actually drunk.
