Mr Giuliani filed for bankruptcy last month after he was ordered to pay $148m to Georgia election workers he defamed

Donald Trump’s former lawyer Rudy Giuliani has listed a claim against the one-term president over unpaid legal fees in a new bankruptcy filing.

The ex-New York City mayor includes a “possible claim for unpaid legal fees against Donald J Trump.” in the 26 January filing, which states that the amount is “undetermined.”

Mr Giuliani filed for bankruptcy last month, days after a federal judge ordered him to “immediately” pay more than $148m to a pair of Georgia election workers a jury determined he defamed.

Mr Giuliani represented Mr Trump in a string of unsuccessful lawsuits contesting the results of the 2020 election that he lost to Joe Biden.

Mr Trump’s legal fees owed to Mr Giuliani have previously been reported. The New York Times wrote in August 2023 that “Mr Trump has never explicitly told Mr Giuliani why he is effectively stiffing him, but the former president has pointed out that he lost the cases related to the election.”

I don't know if Trump is a drinker...?

I doubt it will get that far, but discovery in this case would be fantastic.

Two old men with failing mental faculties arguing over who owes what when the bar asks they pay the tab. Comedy gold.

Is there some way both parties could lose? That's what I want to see...

They're old as fuck, maybe they'll just die.

So there’s this joke that starts out with two guys walking down the street and getting mugged. The mugger demands all of their money, so the first guy grabs his wallet, turns to his friend, and says “So, here’s that $20 I owe you.”

That’s what I’d like to see happen. Make Trump pay up, then immediately take it from Rudy.

I know there’s no reason for not doing it, and it probably happens a lot, but still… I find it funny to be sued by your own lawyer.

It really only happens with nonpayment, uncommon at Trumps' level of wealth. Because you generally want the people getting you out of things and (legally) attacking others on your behalf to stay on your side.

Rudy's on a train to no where, halfway down the line...

Is he intentionally dressing like a rejected Goodfellas extra?

Doesn't bankruptcy usually make you take steps to collect money owed to you?

Seems like it could be a token action needed for him to keep using bankruptcy to avoid the defamation judgment.

Is he gonna continue to lick Trump's asshole even while suing him?
