We've implemented some basic controls to hopefully catch CSAM material earlier. As with any such control, occasionally there might be false positives. Unfortunately that's the price we pay....

Thank you for the effort mods.

I'll take the false positives getting blocked over what can happen otherwise.

Just fyi I've been browsing all/new on kbin and in the past hour or so came across and reported a few more CP posts, I'm almost certain at least one or two were in this magazine, so whatever block you had I don't know that it fully federated, or maybe something else is going on, but either way, the issue is still ongoing..

Sorry you had to experience that. I've heard kbin has had issues with mod actions not federating out to Lemmy. Not sure if the reverse is true. Please contact your admin.

Yeah, thanks. And good point, I'm sure @ernest is aware of what's going on, but will post over on the kbin meta too just in case..

I'm glad that you guys found a way to handle it, even given Lemmy notoriously poor built-in mod tools.

what about features like only allowing text as a post or implementing karma to filter who can post images/videos? Do you think this will happen in the future?

We are part-way there. Some basic controls have been implemented. I don't want to get too specific as then they can set out to circumvent them. It shouldn't affect most genuine community members overly much.

cool. Good luck in the future, I'm sorry for what happened.
