having such strict and changing demands with zero respect for your down time sounds kinda abusive/ toxic, comrade. regardless of the importance of the work, to set a deadline and then change it is extremely shitty.

in my experience a lot of groups like these have similar problems, it's good to be mindful of them, you need to know when to take a break to avoid burning yourself out.

meow-hug thank you

I was drunkposting ngl. I'm relatively new to this organization and don't know the norms yet, officially the standard given is "you've always got up to 5 days" which is usually more time than needed, and everyone else I've interacted with has been much more considerate, but this person hit me up barely more than 12h ahead of time on day 3 going into 4, and had already committed to deliver this stuff to the... idk "client" ig, this morning. Not sure how to tell them that sucks and they should have coordinated with me before making that committment. So now instead of being a little hungover but having slept a full peaceful night in my bed I was working on that shit late, fell asleep on the couch, and woke up super early to finish it. I'm gonna need a friggin nap if I can squeeze one in time-wise. I'm definitely on the road to burning myself out, but thankfully I haven't committed to anything long-term with this org, just pick up work when I can.

I just wish everyone (and I mean everyone) would stop expecting that I always be reachable. I'm glad this person wasn't able to reach me while I was out with friends for the first time in a while. But dealing with the fallout sucks and I know they were probably panicking a little but like, this is not on me jfc, I was offline for like 4 hours tops. And I hate to set the precedent that they can do this, but I did get it done in time, so its not like I'm gonna refuse to hand it over out of spite, I have to talk to them like an adult and I don't want to

my comrades keep reminding me that the principled thing to do is to have these conversations, it's hard, solidarity
