Sankara was appointed Minister of Information in Saye Zerbo's military government in September 1981.

After a coup (7 November 1982) brought to power Major-Doctor Jean-Baptiste Ouédraogo, Sankara became Prime Minister in January 1983. But he was dismissed a few months later, on 17 May.

A coup d'état organized by Blaise Compaoré made Sankara President on 4 August 1983 at the age of 33

See? There are many examples!

I mean, here's a 7,000 swastika carving in Iran, maybe this swastika thing is more complicated than theyre letting on 🧐

Even if they did find those dolls, you could go house to house in a good progressive christian city, you'd find a concerning amount of this shit. They could be from a museum, it could be anything.

finding one two nazi dolls and a book with a swastika doesnt mean everyone, or even anyone in Lebanon is a nazi. Its some racist shit to suggest it.

Don't fall for it.

hey comrades,

I've been having this issue that I thought must have been related to me using Voyager, but I just experienced the same thing through desktop firefox.

When I respond to some users the page load times out and says I can't reply, but it has posted my reply (often without upvoting my own comment)

Obviously not thrilled to be tagging people but one user I have noticed it with replying @Angel@hexbear.net, both threads and comments.

Which is extra annoying cause I've been really enjoying nerding out together.

I think it has happened with other users too. (Really regretting not saving the thread that was extra broken I saw earlier in the week.)

Short video from https://means.tv via youtube

okay I admit this one is leaning a bit heavily into some of the libertarian energy they had in the 70s, but I've been (hounded) by older rush fans to tell me "THEY CHANGED"

but anyway, I'm listening to this because i am mad and the chorus is close to "you don't work, you don't eat"

the song slaps, dont @ me

I'm pretty embarrassed that almost every song from the We Are Lady Parts series gives me goosebumps. I hope this stuff inspires a whole lot of people to start playing guitar!

Sorry I'm posting a listicle, and I didn't CW for FOOD because it's c/food

I just went down a rabbit hole reading about Uzbek food and saw this

Uzbek-style plov is found in the post-Soviet countries and Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region of China. In Xinjiang, where the dish is known as polu, it is often served with pickled vegetables, including carrots, onion and tomato.

Yeah I shouldnt be surpised, you can walk from Xingjang and Uzbekistan, and I did know this, I'm just excited about plov! Years ago my housemate and I made an amazing vegan rendition of Plov with apples and cashews, I wish I could remember what else we used...

It doesnt feel possible for me, but I like to imagine one day visiting Xinjiang

anyway, #plovposting is a much healthier late night activity that peeling through imperialist rags

If we go to war with China there'll be nothing to buy, nothing to buy -- nothing to buy, nothing to buy

"I will spend the rest of my life in prison and die here," wrote Navalny in his upcoming posthumous memoir titled "Patriot", which this week had excerpts published in the new yorker

Patriot? Wow!

source https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cj6eppg77geo

bbc article from 2021 about navalny being a fascist (but its complicated!) https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-56181084

Amnesty International has stripped the Russian opposition politician Alexei Navalny of his "prisoner of conscience" status after it says it was "bombarded" with complaints highlighting xenophobic comments that he has made in the past and not renounced.

newyorker article from 2021 about navalny being a fascist (but its so complicated!) https://archive.md/EOb48

According to Volkov, Navalny now regrets making the 2007 video in which he advocated for deporting Central Asian migrants, but he has not deleted it from YouTube “because it’s a historical fact.”

obviously I shouldnt be surprised about this kind of thing, especially from publications that were around to talk about sHitler caring about germany or whatever
