Haven't decided yet. Have been trying to get into wine lately, have come around to liking it with food sometimes, especially dry white with fish or cheese, but never will it taste good like a mixed drink can. Having a birthday party (one of the adult kids) with Indian food and trying to decide between something mango and something fennel/licorice/herbal for that.

Wild Turkey 101 on the rocks. Thinking about looking up a gin drink with basil. My basil plants are exploding right now in my hydroponic system

Yes, I'd try a Pimm's Cup with basil instead of mint. But if there's too much basil, pesto is what I make.

Been too tired due a couple rough weeks at work, so instead mixing drinks I've been just drinking whisky or brandy lately.

I just had some bourbon with white wine, coconut water, and lemon juice. Not bad

Hopefully not working, I've had one call tonight, drove 45min to fix their issue in less than 5 to then drive the 45min back home.

I wish people would learn how their pop system works so they can do the incredibly basic maintenance needed to keep it happy. Especially when pouring Clamato

We've been drinking our way around the mall (for lack of a better word) where we go grocery shopping so I've been getting a bourbon sour at each place. We have a drink then do the grocery shopping. First week was the expensive rooftop bar, it was good but not worth it. Last week the cheap sports bar, it was literally bourbon with sour mix not even stirred, much less shaken. This week we tried "true food kitchen" and it's the first time in a couple years that the bartender offered egg white and he literally cracked an egg to get it. This one wins by a mile. Gorgeous Amaretto cherry on it, and not too sweet. We haven't run out of places to try yet, either.

In short: bourbon sour Friday night!

Cocktails, the libationary art!

A place for conversation about cocktails, ingredients, home mixology, the bar industry or liquor industry, glassware - this is not an exhaustive list. If you think it's in some way related to cocktails it's probably fine.

If you post something you didn't create give credit whenever possible.

Pictures and recipes are encouraged when posting a drink as a standalone post. Example of an ideal drink post:

We love garnishes.

Remember the code of conduct, keep it nice. In terms of cocktails- specific etiquette that might be different from other communities:

Mentioning your blog, insta, website, book or bar is allowed, yes. For now at least, we do allow self-promotion. If it gets out of hand this might change.

A good post with a drink you don't like is still a good post! Try not to conflate the drink and the post or poster. If someone has a relevant title, gorgeous photo and clearly formatted recipe of what you consider a truly terrible drink, a comment is more appropriate than a downvote.

On that topic: Polite critique/reviews of drinks (or posts, images, etc.) is allowed here. Encouraged , even. It's a good tool for improving your drinks and content. Really, just be nice.
