I'm dying laughing over the idea of heading over to a new platonic friend's house to innocently watch a movie together, and arriving to like this type of setup and the only movie option is the spanish language copy of La piel que habito with no subtitles, and the space is almost conspicuously set up for a hookup with like a mattress directly on the floor.
I hope your date goes well and the comedy scenario I cooked up isn't what happens.
lmao my place is a bit more comfy than that but you on the money; my couch is a pullout too and its actually more comfy to watch movies that way. A small step up from mattress on the floor, but a huge step for broke homo-kind.
If you have a library card you probably have access to Kanopy, a free streaming site. Lots of great titles on there. (Lots of shit too lmao you have to sift through it - tons of classic films, international and documentaries if you look for them.)

i've got a secondhand projector, a big 100" pulldown screen off amazon, and a Kodi server instead of streaming services. It's cozy and dates seem to like it, have fun with your pretextual movie
I have a white wall c:< Also my projector was supposed to be a classroom throw projector at like 30' but my apartment is only about 12' across. It's so bright at that distance I can watch movies in the day lol.
