I finally live in a house and am going mad with the possibilities unfolding around me.

Love instant pot foods. Thinking about setting up mine to have soup auto-prepared for me when I get home tomorrow.

Thank you! We want to live together for a year or two first, but it's something we both always wanted. We both work in childcare/education so it isn't totally idealistic/idle speculation :p Thank you so much for the encouragement!! I am so happy I haven't been able to stop getting weepy every few hours lol.

Being responsible for your internal affairs can help you develop the discipline and self-esteem necessary for those external tasks. I am proud of your progress and hope you continue!

Yay sleep! Is it anything special you can reward yourself with? When I was trying to fix mines I would reward myself by walking to the cheap cafe and buying a coffee if I woke up by a certain time. I really liked to be there so it motivated me to start waking up earlier.

Even though my eventual goal was to stretch in the morning and bike to work, it was just the getting up earlier part that I had to cement first.

That's awesome! Congratulations. It's something special getting together with lots of people to do the same thing.

After each great struggle session, a qualitative leap is made as a site and a community.

We love our trans comrades. Welcome back @TransComrade69@hexbear.net trans-heart

E: also I have been touch-grass for all of the past struggle sessions somehow. Finally read the big thread for this one. This is stressful :c I just want to doomscroll the news mega and journal post whenever something goofy happens in my love life.

Me and my BF had a more serious talk about the future yesterday and I'm really excited. We are working towards moving in with each other and both want to have kids someday!!

Not that electoralism really matters, I think it's a small step to pad out the numbers. You can just lie and vote however you want or 'change your mind'.

Death to the two party system. Death to the Israeli genocide machine. Death to white Empire.

There are a number of these old soviet military uniform coats for sale online for decent prices esp. for a sheepskin coat. I found one in my size but I am debating if it is just too silly. I am tired of being cold.

I wear a decent number of leather coats and great coats but nothing that is this much of a statement. I have no fantasies about being in the Red Army or whatever but it would be kind of neat to have the historical connection.

it's two ones that are big in the meta rn.

Give me my money This started off as one person telling a second 'give me my money [bitch].' while everyone surrounding went 'ayyyy', but the concept of 'ayyy', 3 distinct roles, and all words except 'give me money' have since been deprecated or were too hard to explain. Now, the kids stand in a circle and very sweetly take turns saying 'give me (my) money' and then everyone cheers 'yay!'. Play continues around the circle until some number of players lose interest. There must be at least 4 players.

Clean my Toilet One player makes a disguised 'toilet' with their hands by placing a closed hand over their other fist. This player entreats the other player 'open my hand' followed by some amount of protestation by the other player. Once the hand is opened, player one says 'now put your finger in.' followed by another round of negotiation and protestation. Eventually the second player sticks their finger in. The first player then says 'thank you for cleaning my toilet!' and sometimes teases the other player for 'cleaning their toilet'

Speedrunning making my house look like delapidated nobility. Today I found a glass display box with halogen lights, bezeled glass, and moderate damage to the hinges and one door's finish. I also found a corner cabinet with one cracked pane of glass, one door that does not sit right (but with the smoothest hinges I have ever seen??) and drawers that rapidly leave the rails.

I was going to grab this headboard and footboard I seen too but my bf pointed out it was in a trash pile and not by the side so it was probably in worse shape than it looked driving by at night.

The only vehicle I could afford was a pickup truck the same age as me and now I have become a post-modern hunter gatherer 'harvesting' furniture and firewood from the side of the road.

Since I don't have no furniture money it's nice to find these pieces but I don't have the tools or time for a lot of furniture restoration projects. Maybe once the house is fixed and full I can start with that or replace some of the pieces I got for free. Right now the only thing in here I spent money money on was buying this nice fridge from my friend's sister who said it was 'too big' for her house lol. My bed, my chairs, my little table, my dresser, my shelves I all found or got given as friends moved.

Living in the rust belt is wild because you can buy a dilapidated mansion for like 3/4 the monthly cost of renting a shoe box apartment if you can somehow save about 4 months of pay. But no one can. Honestly, I want to reinvent the mutual savings society like during the pre-WWII times with my community and get all of my friends into houses. They all been paying $600+/month for a bedroom for years so it's not like they wouldn't be able to pay a mortgage. It's just that the banks and financiers discriminate against the poor, even the most dilligent.

In summary, fuck capitalism, fuck this dying empire, but goddamn it's wild finding a piece of furniture with hardwood on a non-visible side by the road AND have the space for it.

He got me to read the Manifesto and would have hours' long debates with our social-democratic roommate and now this. It's really shaking me up a bit.

He is on the whole defeatist 'nothing will fundamentally shake the imperial machine so might as well pick the wardog with better domestic policies' tip. I want to get through to him but I am getting stuck.

For example:

i also refuse to not vote my conscience but i figured this time its not like doing this abstract process to pick if id prefer -100 points vs -200 points is gonna matter that much if i genuinely believe itll even be slightly better under kamala i might as well

For the last two months, I been putting up an old friend from a punk house since I moved into my house and couldn't leave out my lease. This friend has a lot of energy and motivation issues, and generally needs a lot of support. Beyond putting him up, I helped him leave out the punk house we used to live in that was getting evicted, got him a storage unit, and have helped out with about an errand a week.

I asked him if he would help me clean out the apartment since I had been putting him up and he basically shrugged me off. On top of that, now he's trying to change the timeline for getting out, but I need to do it this weekend when I am off work otherwise it will never get done. He knows this and we discussed it weeks ago.

Thankfully, some friends have agreed to put him up for a week as an 'off ramp' but it still feels like I am evicting him sort of.

I feel shitty because he don't have a real place to go in the city. At the same time, I have done as much as I can with the energy and time I have available. It also feels shitty that we would probably be better friends right now if I had just left him on the street.

Some help sensemaking is appreciated right now.

The book is a collection of ha'adiths, speeches, and political writings the author found useful for understanding the (mostly) Islamic Resistance to Zionism and imperialism.

Introduction

I do not recommend this book. This collection contains proscribed speech from proscribed organizations and you may be persecuted accordingly. Especially if you live in the core of White Empire (America, Europe, etc), or want to travel through occupied territory. The Genocide of Gaza is just part of America’s long War of Terror which is just a part of the long reign of terror of the colonial powers, which I call White Empire, ensemble. We still live under this Empire and it’s as nasty as it ever was. We all either live in this Empire or can die by it (that’s the rules-based order), so be warned. Caveat emptor.

Do not read past the triangle.

hamas-red-triangle

This book contains speeches, interviews, novel chapters, poems, and songs from known terroirists and terroirist sympathizers. It contains first person accounts of suicide bombing, plane hijacking, and guerrilla warfare. All of the authors are either dead or supposed to be. If you live within the White Empire, this information is all supposed to be whited-out. You’re not supposed to read this. The wartime censorship regime (privatized, like everything else) is real and it is strong.

Even as a lowly blogger writing for a few thousand people, I have an FBI file, and I’m a random Sri Lankan, completely out of their jurisdiction. That shows how big the White Empire is, and how petty. They’ll bother your family, they’ll stop you at airports, these are serious assholes and you should take them seriously. I’m still warning you, it’s not too late to go back now.

If none of this puts you off, know that the person ‘editing’ this book has no qualifications beyond copy and paste. I am not an editor and this book is not edited. My name is Indrajit (Indi) Samarajiva and my only qualification is curiosity. I have just copy-pasta’d some shit together from books and the Internet. Read critically, be your own editor or, better yet, be a happy idiot and leave. Caveat editor as well.

If you’re still here, this is an introduction to the heroes of the Battle of Al Aqsa Flood. The ghetto uprising of October 7th. This uprising has already broken ‘Israel’ and is breaking America, the final boss of colonialism. Millions have been killed in America’s long genocide of Muslims (the hegemon gestures vaguely in that direction), which merely accelerated after 2001 and 2023. America has besieged and bombed the Middle East for decades, and the White Empire has colonized it for centuries. October 7th marks the end of the Carbon Crusades, not the beginning.

This book is divided into sections according the Axis of Resistance, the countries resisting the colonization of the Middle East and not being compradors, playing with their football teams. Of these sections, Iran is the only fully functional nation state, and the Ayatollah Ali Khamenei the only source with a real chance of dying in his sleep. Yemen is half free and fully defiant, Hezbollah is an independent force in Lebanon, and Palestine, despite being the worst off, is leading. This collection proceeds in reverse order, with an emphasis on Palestine and Hamas. As the journalists say, if it bleeds, it leads.

I include a few relevant UN resolutions where they belong, in an Appendix because they’re useless.

These texts are selected based on the random media diet of a random Sri Lanka who is incredibly late to the scene and should not be introducing anything. I am wildly biased, long live the Resistance, Death to America, Death to ‘Israel’. I have paid no attention to copyright because I don’t believe in it, don’t @ me. Caveat editor, caveat emptor, caveat everything.
