Grimes said that the conversation eventually revealed that Musk believes, somewhat erroneously, that "every way that you transition can cause fertility issues" — an unsurprising sticking point for the billionaire, who has fathered at least 10 children and is reportedly obsessed with fertility.

She willingly went out with that nazi knowing full well he was always like this

Fuck her, people like her are part of the fucking problem

[-] beef_curds@hexbear.net 39 points 11 months ago

She seems really unmoored every time I see her speaking. She feels like one of those people who takes the shape of whatever she's surrounded by at the time, but in old age will settle into being a monster.

[-] utopologist@hexbear.net 10 points 11 months ago

I think she's also just genuinely very stupid. Have you read the river houseboat story?

[-] yeather@lemmy.ca 24 points 11 months ago

Girl gotta get that bag.

[-] Flyberius@hexbear.net 47 points 11 months ago

I hate it when they justify their transphobia by pretending to care. And fertility? What an utterly bizarre reason. Bordering on "Every sperm is precious" levels of nuttery.

[-] Mindfury@hexbear.net 40 points 11 months ago

he straight up subscribes to the same ideology as Jeffrey Epstein did, to the letter

which is what makes his constant deflection of the Ghislaine picture so much more hilarious

[-] markr@hexbear.net 29 points 11 months ago

Sacred, not precious. Misquoting Python is heresy.

Every sperm is sacred Every sperm is great If a sperm is wasted, God gets quite irate

[-] ChrisLicht@lemm.ee 13 points 11 months ago

Fuck, now I’ll have this in head all morning.

[-] markr@hexbear.net 8 points 11 months ago

You’re welcome.

If anybody is paying a servant to catch and cache every precious load, it's him.

[-] roux@lemmygrad.ml 21 points 11 months ago

You don't lay awake at night worrying about the fertility of transfolk?

[-] JuneFall@hexbear.net 10 points 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago)

Musk really wants to have breeding chambers like in the Matrix movies, while not getting the trans allusions in the movie. After the revolution we will see if Musk becomes like the last Emperor of China.

[-] roux@lemmygrad.ml 8 points 11 months ago

If I wake up and find out I'm a fucking Twitter battery I'm gonna be pissed.

[-] GarfieldYaoi@hexbear.net 4 points 11 months ago

"Every sperm is precious" levels of NUTTERY

I love this site.

[-] M68040@hexbear.net 43 points 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago)

Rich idiots not make their breeding fetish a core part of their philosophy challenge

[-] Gay_Tomato@hexbear.net 38 points 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago)

Good fucking lord he can't even be transphobic without thinking about getting someone pregnant. Why has millions of years of human labor culminated in forcing me to constantly hear about this creeps breeding fetish??? screm3why-angelscrem-aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

[-] Razzazzika@lemm.ee 34 points 11 months ago

Wonder how he'd feel about people like me, who were infertile BEFORE transitioning.

[-] ClimateChangeAnxiety@hexbear.net 31 points 11 months ago

So basically, he resents his trans kid because that’s one less kid that will spread his genes in the future?

That’s fucking weird as hell dude

[-] footfaults@hexbear.net 29 points 11 months ago

Of all the invalid reasons, that is indeed the most invalid

[-] YearOfTheCommieDesktop@hexbear.net 22 points 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago)

My opinion? He's engaging in the time honored capitalist tradition of lying all the time abut anything and everything.

He's a weirdo sure, but is he soooo different and special that he's just transphobic because of his eccentric obsessions? No shot. He's just got the same anxieties about gender as every other transphobe. Not even exceptional in his bigotry

the weirdo angle here is that he thought this made him sound better. But I guess it did, to Grimes

[-] DoubleShot@hexbear.net 3 points 11 months ago

Exactly. We should not take this at face value.

[-] GarfieldYaoi@hexbear.net 6 points 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago)

Queerphobia is always just someone taking their breeding kink way too far, change my mind.

[-] ZapataCadabra@hexbear.net 6 points 11 months ago

I really think enough right wing weirdos who follow him told him not to like trans people and he's just desperate for their approval and has now internalized the position. If you ask him I'm sure he'd say he's always felt this way, but if we could time travel to the exact moment I'm sure it begins with a tweet somewhere.

[-] AlicePraxis@hexbear.net 10 points 11 months ago

I doubt there was ever a time when he wasn't transphobic though. The fact is, almost everyone on the planet over the age of 30 was transphobic by default and had to learn not to be (and most still haven't).

Like I was born in the 90s and didn't really know about the existence of trans people until my teens and there were almost no out trans people until I was in my 20s. If you were weren't transphobic you were an absolute outlier and 99% of the population would think you're insane for not being a bigot. And I live in a liberal state.

[-] KarlBarqs@hexbear.net 7 points 11 months ago

It's frankly shocking in hindsight how many movies in the 90s and early 00s used "attractive woman used to be a man" as a joke. Like no other punchline, just "haha she used to be a man" or the even more disgusting variant of "male main character shocked and disgusted by knowledge they slept with post op trans woman". Like you're right, pop culture barely acknowledged trans people as even existing normally until... Fuck, barely 10 years ago?

[-] YaaAsantewaa@hexbear.net 5 points 11 months ago

In the 1990's making fun of gay people on national TV like SNL skits was perfectly acceptable

People forget same-sex marriage was only legalized here around 2004, that's only 19 years

[-] DoubleShot@hexbear.net 2 points 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago)

I attended a Christian university in the early 00s. Obviously not a representative sample size but guys around me used the f-word slur like it was going out of style. And while a bunch of white Christian college guys are gonna use that word a lot more, it’s use was still fairly common among other people I knew.

The absolutefrothingfash with which transphobes responded to a transwomen breastfeeding her infant makes me think that fertility may not be the main sticking point here
