oh hey the canvas also looks a bit different...

If this is your first Canvas post you've seen...

Canvas is a collaborative pixel canvas, much similar to r/place

I really like how respectful canvas is compared to place. At least so far people mainly tried to draw around other even integrated other people's work like the rainbow mortar that changed the font color on its way but didn't overwrite it.

I love how I went to bed expecting my drawing to be defaced, but instead people completed it!

[-] PrivateNoob@sopuli.xyz 5 points 1 month ago

Absolutely same. It's pretty surprising.

but instead people completed it

LOL, that's wonderful.

I saw the osu! logo getting griefed tho, and the canadians destroying my attempt to draw my country flag. :((

But other than that, it's more chill than the Reddit one.

this kinda shows how the fediverse is about cooperation :)

This is beautiful. The mood seems far more chill. The only one I participated in was... Rather contentious

[-] JohnDClay@sh.itjust.works 13 points 1 month ago

Thanks for putting that time lapse together, that's really cool!

Thanks everyone that helped!! I'll be trying to individually PM each of you, but it's kinda hard to check each pixel so i'm probably waiting for logs. Very much appreciate it, so, so, so, soooo much.

I helped in making ears of Lemmy :D

[-] jaybone@lemmy.world 5 points 1 month ago

Why is the right side mostly empty?

[-] Ategon@programming.dev 7 points 1 month ago

The canvas was expanded to have that area a bit before this was posted

That megumin got damn that must have taken a crap ton of coordination

Templates, baby!

[-] Ram_The_Manparts@hexbear.net 4 points 1 month ago

This is the most reddit thing I've ever seen

[-] mathemachristian@hexbear.net 8 points 1 month ago

And hence feddit is all over it lol

[-] bloubz@lemmygrad.ml 5 points 1 month ago

With the fashist NAFO flag?

[-] mathemachristian@hexbear.net 2 points 1 month ago

And the giant german lemmy in the middle

[-] can@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 month ago

At least it feels more like the first one. I would like to see some additional original fediverse events in the future.

[-] Black616Angel@discuss.tchncs.de 4 points 1 month ago

Only problem I had, was that sometimes the canvas wouldn't load correctly and I then placed pixel on other peoples work.

I MISSED IT NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

[-] eatham@aussie.zone 10 points 1 month ago

You didn't don't worry. It is paused

I think there should be size limits on flags. You can have national flags but these shouldn't take up too much space.

There is something... Funny about the oversized former colonial flag ukkk being above the Indian flag.

And then there is the Nazi rat at the heart. And that's not even talking about the NATO flag which has been turned very close to a Swastika.

[-] arudesalad@sh.itjust.works 8 points 1 month ago

The massive uk flag is actually a part of the aussie flag, which means it is going to be a lot larger

I regret thinking about this a bit too late, but what if we* ganged up against the largest country flag in the canvas, whichever it is? We wouldn't even need to agree on what we should cover it with, as long as everyone places pixels over the same flag.

*"we" = anyone who doesn't want those big country flags.
