Great story! I did the math based on the author's statement that the american equivalent (not being made at scale) is 5x more at $37,000 and all total they paid about $7,000 to get the truck from the factory to Florida.

For context, a '94 Ford Ranger costed $10,000.

Realistically, that's all most people need. And for the price of a nicer MacBook, you can't really complain.

The only real issue is safety, that might add a few hundreds or thousands.
