If you're browsing over tor, it shouldn't be possible for anything to be blocked

[–] tb_@lemmy.world 4 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Yeah but what if you don't have tor yet?

[–] ReveredOxygen@sh.itjust.works 7 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Download it when you're not at school. And I was talking about tor because they mentioned using a tor mirror

[–] tb_@lemmy.world 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)

But what if you were at school and didn't have it downloaded but wanted to use it right now?

Hence the point of the meme. Which you seemed to misunderstand.

[–] ReveredOxygen@sh.itjust.works 5 points 11 months ago

I did misunderstand the meme. I thought they meant a .onion mirror of the site, not a mirror or tor browser

It's been well over a decade since Google looked like that.

Also Google is now a shitty search engine that front-loads ads and presumes you are looking to buy something.

So please do not LMGTFY, and please stop using Google as a slang for search the web for...

Thank you.

Im with you on the critic of modern Google but you first need to give us another slang, cause search the web for is laboriously long

[–] uriel238@lemmy.blahaj.zone 6 points 11 months ago (1 children)

do a websearch is only one more syllable than google it and is a mixed vowel. I use DDG myself (which has, itself, waned in quality over the last few years).

[–] urheber@discuss.tchncs.de 2 points 11 months ago (1 children)

any alternative? DDG NEVER gives me anything im looking for.

Maybe try Qwant?

[–] yokonzo@lemmy.world 14 points 11 months ago

It's a Trackmania map, I'm pretty sure
