Value

Walgreens

Pick one.

Guarantee the price per milligram is at least 5x higher for the bottle on the left.

I priced out several OTC drugs from a handful of local vendors, and Walgreens was obscenely expensive compared to the others.

(Costco was the winner - their pharmacy alone makes a membership worth it)

So, uh.. definitely hamburger style.

Afaik their pharmacy doesn't require a membership

[-] Trex202@lemmy.world 8 points 5 months ago

You don't need a membership to get prescriptions filled at Costco

You don’t need Costco to get your prescription membership renewed.

Hamburger please

I still find it crazy you can get them in such a large bottle.

In UK we get like a small box of 16 or 24. Even when prescribed it just ends up being multiples of boxes.

[-] TwanHE@lemmy.world 2 points 5 months ago

When I had them prescribed here in NL i just got 4 smaller boxes still inside the larger box they use to ship them.

A whole pharmacy could run of the barrels they showed here.

I think it’s an American single weeks worth perhaps 😂

[-] this_1_is_mine@lemmy.world 1 points 5 months ago

I only wanna have to remember to buy them once a year damn it.

[-] DJDarren@thelemmy.club 1 points 5 months ago

Then try buying three boxes of them at once.

“Oh I’m sorry our till doesn’t let you have more than two” but I’m stocking up not having a bender!

I prefer the gourmet variety, prescription strength, the dosage of four in one, uncoated, in an orange plastic bottle.

Costco has safety dance orange hotdog flavored ibuprofen.

Medicate if you want to

You can leave your pain behind

[-] Cooljimy84@lemmy.world 8 points 5 months ago

I grind mine up and sprinkle it into my morning coffee.

[-] Sterile_Technique@lemmy.world 10 points 5 months ago

Monster Energy, handful of ibuprofen, and a gabapentin. Breakfast of champi- ow my liver!

[-] TwanHE@lemmy.world 3 points 5 months ago

Just get the 1000mg soluble powder bags. Worked wonders for a inflamed tendon I had, downside being I didn't feel it if I stubbed my toe.

We gotta use blue goo pills because my fiancee is allergic to corn and its byproducts, and the gelcaps are cornstarch-free. Personally idgaf what shape the pills are.

[-] Chewget@lemm.ee 5 points 5 months ago

Hot dog is for acetaminophen. Then you can put them in the same bottle when traveling

[-] icerunner_origin@startrek.website 5 points 5 months ago

Gotta be the turkey twizzler variety.

[-] Tolookah@discuss.tchncs.de 4 points 5 months ago

Sugar coated, though I'll do naproxen overnight, it lasts longer.

Pill shape matters not.

Size, on the other hand... Fuck large pills, I'd rather take 5 small ones than 1 large one.

[-] Daxtron2@startrek.website 2 points 5 months ago

I can't do either unless absolutely necessary, causes too much stomach pain from prior GI bleeds

[-] paddirn@lemmy.world 1 points 5 months ago

Either one seems to work with rectal administration, though the hotdog variety is a little easier to push in.
