We do? Damn, I had the wrong impression of us the whole time! Where do I have to report for my weekly group sex?

[-] Obi@sopuli.xyz 5 points 1 year ago

Just hit up your local group sex club with your credentials and off you go! You should find them listed on your local street lamps and other electrical boxes, or if you're inclined for the fancier varieties you can become a member at your local golf and/or gentlemen's clubs, but obviously the costs there are different, and while you'd think you'd get fewer diseases that's surprisingly not the case!

How did I live without knowing that?

[-] RedCanasta@lemmy.fmhy.ml 14 points 1 year ago

I bake my own bread once a week, I can never go back now

[-] ch00f@lemmy.world 14 points 1 year ago

Hey, at least in Europe sliced bread was never illegal

[-] Ghostalmedia@lemmy.world 14 points 1 year ago

San Francisco Bay Area here. We agree. Fuck white bread. Sliced sourdough at the bare minimum.

[-] SirShanova@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

Rosemary sourdough is tasty, too!

I'm french, I bake my own bread. It's not as good as the down street bakery but it's my own, there's something satisfying about knowing the process of how to bake such a cornerstone of the culinary world

I live in México. I fucking hate that Yankees brought their nasty comercial white bread here. We have so much more bread and tortilla options, for cheaper and much more tastier.

[-] midas@ymmel.nl 7 points 1 year ago

Baguettes, the French had it right all along

[-] SrEstegosaurio@lemmy.ml 5 points 1 year ago

What most people call "bread" is trash-food near quality. Like, even if baked on a true bakery I still prefer "normal bread" instead of "sandwich bread".

Embrace bocadillo supremacy.

I've got hungry after searching the image. :c

Where is the salted butter?

[-] Obi@sopuli.xyz 4 points 1 year ago

Beurre au sel de Guérande or go home! And the one with the chunky bits of salt, not smooth.

Europeans be like: 💩👎 🥖👍

[-] SternburgExport@feddit.de 4 points 1 year ago

Why not both?

[-] figaro@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

American breads are shit, prove me wrong

[-] TONKAHANAH@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

You're not... Wrong.

Idk some American bread isn't awful but it's nothing compared to quality bread. As an American it frustrates me that I can't get much decent bread at the local grocery and would have to hunt down a specialty bakery to find anything remotely good and would likely pay x5 the price for it.

All sensible people be like...

Sliced white bread without any cheese or jam tastes like paper. Boule, even just as is, has its own good taste.

[-] SrEstegosaurio@lemmy.ml 3 points 1 year ago

This is a key factor in distinguishing good and bad bread. If you can eat bread alone then it's good.

[-] airportline@lemmy.world -4 points 1 year ago

How do you make sandwiches with European bread?

[-] AUniqueGeek@lemmy.world 9 points 1 year ago

I think you usually cut the bread into slices first.

[-] Sept@lemmy.ml 5 points 1 year ago

With le baguette you just slice half of it in 2 and it's done.

[-] chocobo13z@pawb.social 5 points 1 year ago

Slice it in half along a short side and assemble like so?

[-] Sept@lemmy.ml 1 points 1 year ago

Ahahahahah you made my day !

[-] Skellybones@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

Cut the bread with a bread knife
