Libs get very mad if you mention you are not voting for KKKamala HarriSS

It is like they don't even understand how the electoral system works or something.

It is quite literally throwing your vote away to vote for her. She is not going to hurdle that margin folks, matter how much she tries to get right wing votes and endorsements.

Hey libs, move to a swing state if you care so much.

I'm in a swing state and I'm voting Stein sicko-wholesome

[-] infuziSporg@hexbear.net 20 points 3 months ago

Not gonna try to get a lib to pay you to do a vote exchange?

[-] Homer_Simpson@hexbear.net 33 points 3 months ago

In the most important state and writing in "Genocide Joe"

[-] BurgerPunk@hexbear.net 26 points 3 months ago

They told is only Biden can beat Trump. Don't let them trick you into throwing your vote away. A vote for anyone but Joe is a vote for Trump

Oh, suddenly the libs don't want me voting for Biden anymore? I'm getting such mixed signals from them

[-] hypercracker@hexbear.net 31 points 3 months ago

On the other side I have friends who live in fucking Washington state that mald about this like motherfucker why are you voting for the dems? Your vote does not matter at all whatsoever, you're just in it for the love of the game I guess.

I used to live in indiana and I tried to get involved within the local democratic party there for a period of time. Thats when I learned that the dem parties in red states are even more of a joke than dems in blue and purple states.

Hell, at the county level, the democratic party didn't even exist beyond the chairman posting memes on the facebook page.

What are the rules for these elections?

Can you like... Sign up for more than one? Is there a rule against that?

Just sign up for as many as possible and see if you win one?

Could be funny.

[-] Wertheimer@hexbear.net 2 points 3 months ago

If you're not going through a party, you generally need a bunch of signatures. I checked Alabama, because it's early in alphabetical order and has three congressional candidates running unopposed, and they require signatures from at least "3% of all votes cast for governor in the district in the last election."

[-] Awoo@hexbear.net 3 points 3 months ago

"Through a party" being defined as what? Is there a specific defined mechanism the parties get to bypass the rule on that smaller ""parties"" could fuck around with?

[-] the_itsb@hexbear.net 4 points 3 months ago

the initial paperwork and ongoing reporting requirements for a party would make that a harder feat than gathering signatures

it is intentionally difficult

[-] btfod@hexbear.net 14 points 3 months ago

Oof.

You wanna know how washed the Democratic Party of Arkansas is? Their last challenger for Tom Cotton's senate seat dropped out of the race two hours after the filing period ended. Complete implosion.

I think this is the surest sign Trump will win.

Democrats are dead, irrelevant and wouldn’t have it any other way. Amerikkka knows that the democrats have outlived their usefulness.

[-] BurgerPunk@hexbear.net 19 points 3 months ago

Hmmmm pretty sure only Biden can beat Trump. Sounds like those libs are the ones throwing their votes away. A vote for Harris is a vote for Trump

[-] GalaxyBrain@hexbear.net 18 points 3 months ago

I live in fucking Canada and have caught shit for not wanting her to win. I don't care who wins and also live in a different country with its own election coming up with a viable party that's against supporting genocide. Our socdem party which is a strong 3rd and has been for a while recently cut alliances with the liberal party, chances are this round is going to the Tories and they're hoping to set themselves up as the main opposition for the election after, but considering the whole genocide thing, I'm gonna need to go 2020 Bernie mode×10 for the ndp, they were drifting real lib for a while so it's kind of a surprise and while.theyre otherwise still pretty mid, they could conceivably get a PM in office and they oppose the genocide. That's good enough for me to knock on doors, hell that's good enough for me to tell anarchists to vote this time

[-] sexywheat@hexbear.net 3 points 3 months ago

Unfortunately the Dippers are still hovering around 16-18% (as they have almost my entire life) and a conservative majority seems like a foregone conclusion at this point. Still, one year is a lifetime in politics and a lot can happen in that time, but at this point it's highly unlikely the Liberals are gonna get elected again, let alone the NDP.

The only feasible way that NDP can even get official opposition status again is if Quebec decides to have another one night stand with them, and with the strength of the Bloc I just don't see that happening in the foreseeable future.

[-] GalaxyBrain@hexbear.net 3 points 3 months ago

I said that in my post. It totally going to the conservatives this time, but I think the ndp is aiming to supplant the libs as the main opposition to the conservatives for the election after and regardless I'm gonna have to go hard for em whenever the next one is called cause they don't support genocide.

Live in Ohio here, no matter what libs say this shithole is reliably red.

maybe-later-honey: “BuT yOu GoTtA fIgHt!”

Don’t they fucking get it? Even by liberal standards a good amount of this country is hopelessly fascist. I don’t think there is a single spot in this shithole where a freak like me will ever truly be welcome let alone begrudgingly tolerated.

[-] the_itsb@hexbear.net 2 points 3 months ago

Yellow Springs and Athens are the only bright spots

[-] Ericthescruffy@hexbear.net 10 points 3 months ago

Yup. I live in Texas and I might feel some degree of pressure if I lived in a swing state...but I promise you all I will sleep like a baby when I cast my vote with the top of the ticket blank.

[-] anonochronomus@hexbear.net 10 points 3 months ago

I'm about to cancel my voter registration (in a swing state). Suck me off from behind, libs.

[-] Zuzak@hexbear.net 10 points 3 months ago

It's all about tribalism and team sports.

God I hate living in Wisconsin. If only I were in a solid red or blue state, I would vote PSL without a second thought. But goddamn after Scott Walker I just have such a visceral hatred of the Republican party, I want them to lose so dang bad at every level fuck those union busting assholes. I need to find a dozen libs in California and convince them to do a vote swap with me.
