/c/TenFoward: Your home-away-from-home for all things Star Trek!

Re-route power to the shields, emit a tachyon pulse through the deflector, and post all the nonsense you want. Within reason of course.

~ 1. No bigotry. This is a Star Trek community. Remember that diversity and coexistence are Star Trek values. Any post/comments that are racist, anti-LGBT, or generally "othering" of a group will result in removal/ban.

~ 2. Keep it civil. Disagreements will happen both on lore and preferences. That's okay! Just don't let it make you forget that the person you are talking to is also a person.

~ 3. Use spoiler tags. This applies to any episodes that have dropped within 3 months prior of your posting. After that it's free game.

~ 4. Keep it Trek related. This one is kind of a gimme but keep as on topic as possible.

~ 5. Keep posts to a limit. We all love Star Trek stuff but 3-4 posts in an hour is plenty enough.

~ 6. Try to not repost. Mistakes happen, we get it! But try to not repost anything from within the past 1-2 months.

~ 7. No General AI Art. Posts of simple AI art do not 'inspire jamaharon'

~ 8. No Political Upheaval. Political commentary is allowed, but please keep discussions civil. Read here for our community's expectations.

Fun will now commence.

@jawa21@startrek.website for realizing that the line used to be "want to be added to the sidebar?" and capitalized on it. Congratulations and welcome to the sidebar. Stamets is both ashamed and proud.

The rest of the mods have all gotten together. You're fired.

This was a step too far, eh?

Jar Jar (being a Sith afterall) just added a whole lot of "unique" qualities to the collective

[–] ininewcrow@lemmy.ca 7 points 3 months ago

The entire collective in our unison voice: .... 'WE HAVE TO TALK LIKE THAT NOW?'

[–] slazer2au@lemmy.world 13 points 3 months ago

You monster, I will never unsee this.

[–] spittingimage@lemmy.world 12 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Is there, uh, another collective I could be assimilated by?

[–] ummthatguy@lemmy.world 8 points 3 months ago (1 children)

You'd still be better off.

[–] MNByChoice@midwest.social 2 points 3 months ago (2 children)

I am missing the reference. Which show is that from? Thanks in advance.

[–] ummthatguy@lemmy.world 6 points 3 months ago

Picard season 2. A splinter faction of hippie Borg that only take volunteers. Unless you're a completionist, save yourself the trouble and avoid.

[–] JWBananas@lemmy.world 2 points 2 months ago

Picture, like, the Picard version of the Tok'ra.

[–] Glytch@lemmy.world 10 points 3 months ago

Nah the Gungans are like the Kazon; their assimilation would only detract from the perfection of the collective.

A show about the Borg invasion of Naboo, damn now I'm hooked.

[–] ininewcrow@lemmy.ca 18 points 3 months ago

I don't think so ... the Borg arrived, heard the Gungan language and thought ..... "we do not want this"

[–] kat_angstrom@lemmy.world 8 points 3 months ago (1 children)

I'd watch 7 seasons of this, assuming the Borg don't win

[–] ininewcrow@lemmy.ca 6 points 3 months ago

In this case, I'd be cheering for the Borg as they run away from the Gungans and doing their very best to NOT to assimilate the Gungans

All out epic storylines and drama of how the Borg keep trying to avoid the Gungans and run away from them

I hate that i must upvote a jarjar meme... look what you've done!

[–] Bishma@discuss.tchncs.de 5 points 3 months ago

And you thought the Borg were scary before...

[–] f4f4f4f4f4f4f4f4@sopuli.xyz 3 points 2 months ago

I remember reading a Star Trek novel by William Shatner in which there were Borg dogs.
