Since Luigi's 'manifest' suggested that someone like Moore would be much better positioned to make the argument that needs to be made and the news media have been hounding Moore to disavow the assassination, he decided to go ahead and write the damn thing.

Yeah ol Mikey's copped a lot of shit from all sides over the years. I know we used to dunk on him occasionally on r/CTH but this was a banger and it hit me so fucking hard when he explicitly described one of my losses. Truth is I have felt a murderous rage about it that I can't let go of so Luigi's Deed felt just, so cathartic. I'm not even American. I can't imagine how many people feel magnitudes more of what I feel about all of this.

Sometimes think I can't wait for the American civil war to go fully hot so I can come on an adventure-time it's basically my retirement plan.

Thank you comrade. I've had plenty of time for self care, it has been years. Grief just comes in waves or is triggered by certain reminders. And it's never ideal to forget our dead, they're only ever finally gone when we stop remembering them.

Gonna just take this moment to shout out an RIP to my Native American homie Scott who died a slow, painful scary death, alone, addicted to pain killers, due to lifelong chronic pain but was ultimately taken out by an infection from a broken leg because he slipped on some stairs while stuck living with his mother into his 40s, bankrupted and unable to afford proper treatment.

I always miss you Scott. It's been so many years, decades now since you helped raised me over the internet and knew me better than anyone else ever will and I will never forget you. When I listen to the music you put me on to I can barely stand to exist. I'm sorry I keep relapsing I know you would want me to do better I wish I could have held you once, I wish you'd lived long enough that before my downfall I could have helped you get the help you needed.

You touched so many lives even after we grew apart, the tributes to you online were hundreds and hundreds of pages long before those forums were /dev/null'd and I know your beautiful spirit lives on in dozens of lives.

And I will always respect you for stealing my girl from all the way across the other side of the world. You mufuckin pimp you.

Once of his usernames was Ghostdancer. He had it tattooed down his spine.

If you're unfamiliar with the concept, you'll probably enjoy https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ghost_Dance and especially its historic connection to Lakota resistance to the white invaders. It's all very sad, as well, but deeply cool and as I watch the USA collapse I can't help but think about those native spirits (he is with them now) working (or at least watching) from the spirit plane as a factor in the decay of the inherently rotten construct of the white man's nation.

I'm almost entirely materialist but I keep a little space in my heart and mind to allow for this sort of magical thinking, as a treat.

Yeah big time same energy. I love that the public is generally with Luigi on this.

This might actually be an effective propaganda of the deed in that the obligatory mainstream media response and the vast distance between how the news anchors are talking and how the people feel really might be a momentous opportunity for class consciousness raising, even if it's in some distinctly uniquely stupid American way.

I keep thinking about the class consciousness aspect of it.

The thing is, if you talk to anyone around here, in my neck of the woods anyway, semi-rural middle America, the guy behind the counter at the farm store or the livestock feed mill will wholeheartedly agree with any "fuck them rich assholes" sentiment.

The problem really feels like solidarity. And I'm not sure what the right answer to that is, other than continually demonstrating how if you get a paycheck you are "one of us" not "one of them."

Yeah, it's a tough one. The whole system is set up to avoid the formation of class consciousness, or even just basic self interested action like unionising. Dealing with decades and generations worth of multi-vector propaganda.

I think those commies who do free tail light replacement (etc) type events are on the right track as far as praxis goes. Just doing helpful stuff without expecting reward but making your political allegiance clear. "I'm a socialist and I have your back because we are on the same team" type beat. I think that sorta shit is the most effective and accessible way to start chipping away at the problem.

I should get a small dingy with a communist flag (or similar) before the next big flood here. Same for my truck. Just any time you can volunteer your time to help people, do a little bit of optics on the side without preaching any theory. Wear your ideology shirt when you're spontaneously dropping a few cases of water off at a picket line during a local strike. Just start helping people recognise that "we're the good guys" by doing and not telling.
