An unofficial chapter of the popular Dull Men's Club.

1. Relevant commentary on your own dull life. Posts should be about your own dull, lived experience. This is our most important rule. Direct questions, random thoughts, comment baiting, advice seeking, many uses of "discuss" rarely comply with this rule.

2. Original, Fresh, Meaningful Content.

3. Avoid repetitive topics.

4. This is not a search engine or advice forum.
Use a search engine, a tradesperson, Reddit, friends, a specialist Facebook group, apps, Wikipedia, an AI chat, a reverse image search etc. to answer simple questions, identify objects or get advice. We accept very few questions, and they must be over topics much more difficult than what is easily discoverable with a search. Also see rule 1, “comment baiting”.

5. Keep it dull. If it puts us to sleep, it’s on the right track. Examples of likely not dull: jokes, gross stuff (including toes), politics, religion, royalty, illness or injury, killing things for fun, or promotional content. Feel free to post these elsewhere.

6. Not hate speech, sexism, or bullying No sexism, hate speech, degrading or excessively foul language, or other harmful language. No othering or dehumanizing of anyone or negativity towards any gender identity.

7. Proofread before posting. Use good grammar and punctuation. Avoid useless phrases. Some examples: - starting a post with "So" - starting a post with pointless phrases, like "I hope this is allowed" or “this is my first post” Only share good quality, cropped images. Do not share screenshots of images; share the original image.

8. All polls must have an "Africa, by Toto" option. Why? Because we hear the drums echoing tonight.

The bolts for the handle prevent going from top to bottom in one motion across the whole door so I had to adapt. Over time, I've become pretty good at removing all the water to prevent streaks when it dries even on the sleepiest of mornings.

I had to think about it...these are the steps for the harder door:

Top right down to the top bolt, swoop counter-clockwise around it the edge.

All the way left to that same bolt, swoop again clockwise, down to the second bolt, swoop counter-clockwise around to the edge.

All the way left to the bottom bolt, another swoop, down to the bottom

For all of this, the squeegee must remain angled to fit between the gap where the doors overlap.

Proceed as normal (top to bottom) for the rest where there are no obstructions.

The other door is the inner door so no fancy moves are required. I can hold the squeegee normally.

My system is a little different- I always ensure that I get up before my wife so she does it…no sense doing it right before someone showers, right?

That IS a pretty good system...hmm...

I thought so. You have to prime the pump first though. Wake up later the first time or two and say "babe, you don't need to clean the shower glass when I'm just going to get in mess it up - let me do it after after mine".

I am grateful for living in a place that doesn't have much calcium in the water, so I don't get streaks.

I don't get much calcium but I do get the base of the shower turning orange from rust. Can't have it all.

It feels good to have a system, doesn't it?

I wonder if an aquarium cleaner like this would be a feasible solution to this?

[–] glimse@lemmy.world 1 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Hmmm I'm not sure that would help. I think I'd still hit the same issue of getting around the bolts and also have to deal with the handle itself

Ahhh, I was envisioning it incorrectly.
