What changed since the version we had? The UI changelog doesn't seem to be consistently maintained.

That doesn't really answer my question.

I'm curious about what significant changes in behavior we might see as a result of the upgrade. Are there improvements you were looking forward to? Is anything worse? Has our recurring federation problem been solved?

So far, I've noticed that my front page now appears with blank placeholders where the posts should be, and it takes several seconds for them to resolve into something readable. Seems like a step backward to me.

Detailed release notes for each version

Federation issues should be solved partially, because LW should update too for them to be completely resolved

I had similar issues, but clearing my browser cache seems to have helped.

I know there was quite a few activityhub/fediverse fixes recently implemented on Lemmy. Specifically mastodon/Peertube I remember seeing in the GitHub issues. It's one of the biggest issues with Lemmy world for example pulling from other activityhub resources.

There's 11 months between those two releases. Conservative is OK, but I hope we can speed the upgrade pace up slightly.

btw, does anyone else notice difference in old.lemmy.sdf.org? I'm not sure if it's an issue on my side but the behavior seems to slightly differ. The right sidebar (Create post/community info) disappears when I resize my window to be narrower and there's a yellow "Support for this instance is greatly appreciated at https://sdf.org/support" I don't remember seeing before..
