I'm sharing this pic because it might be useful, to advertise Lemmy in Reddit meme communities and the likes. It isn't supposed to be a full info dump, just to spread the word that Lemmy exists and give people some room to ask questions about it.

The copypasta is from @Blaze@lemmy.dbzer0.com. The meme is from @JokkaJukka@lemmy.world.

Here's the source SVG file in case anyone wants to edit it.

EDIT - @Libb@jlai.lu had a great take on this idea, I need to share it here:

That template is my favourite meme of all times I think.

I like it too - it's like that "they're the same picture" template, it's silly but you can use it for everything!

I don't know, do we really want loads of people drowning us instead of a more organic growth?

Guess the meme, which is excellent, might weed out the worst :-D

I'm okay with accelerating the "organic growth"

It's not like this meme would bring a million people here overnight

I think that some bits of advertisement won't flood us with newcomers, at least not now. They'll at most redirect some people discontent with Reddit to Lemmy.

I saw the derivatives, now I'm seeing that this is where they came from - noice!:-)

If people are sharing the derivatives this is bloody amazing! Did you see them in Reddit, here in Lemmy, or in some other place?

It's where I pinged you yesterday :)
