Learned something today then! πŸ‘

Edit: doesn't work for me

The crazy part, IMO, is that there is no way to filter that crap, at all. I'd love a good "front-page" but no.

I downloaded my first image from internet in 92, just took a prolonged coffee break (a couple of kilobytes small b&w image).

You must have been in an American uni?

I mean they do try to solve crimes? So if the "cops" win, it is good?

There must be some names that invalidates your claim (I'm just bewildered if it's true)

Like Abc Def and Ab Cdef style. Or is firs.tnamelastname valid too?

It can have meaning, like in helping someone in need.

But for the rest you're quite correct IMO.

[–] Valmond@lemmy.world 1 points 4 hours ago

You mean "who created Odin" and "why is Odin" here ofc.

I bet you are under 40.

Life doesn't need death to be worthwhile, neither does it need diseases or the urgent need to take a dump.

Absurdism is another (IMO better, but that's just me).

Absurdists unite!

I have seen videos of the machines injecting water into shrimps (lots of needles), this isn't a conspiracy theory!

A similar thing is fat; force-feed cattle quickly and they get a big lump of fat (it will just melt away, but you still pay for it), feed them normally and exercise them and the fat will be in "stripes" and makes the meat taste way better.

Hi everyone!

I'm curious about robot building, and on YouTube I can only find the simplest DIY robot, the robot arm, and AI slop, is there a community for people liking/wanting/trying to build little robots?

Personally I'd love one being able to roam around outside in the dangerous world like Curiosity but on planet earth (or at least in the garden).

Hello!

I'm toying with the idea of building one of those oldtime slow action-point games (you earn action points every hour or day) here on lemmy.

My needs would be to send updates, and recieve commands over private messages (or as comments in posts, but I would need to send results on PMs at least), and pythorhead seems to fit the bill with the exception that I can't figure out how to send messages to a user on another server.

I can easily send messages from lemmy.mindoki.com to a user on that same server, but not to a user on say world.com (sending a pm manually is working).

Is this a wanted limitation or am I just bad at programming?

Cheers & thanks for the good work!

Hello!

I'm toying with making one of those oldtime slow-games (you gain action points like every hour or day) here on lemmy. For that to work I'd need to read a users (the game bot) private messages, send messages from it and make basic posts on my lemmy server.

I looked at plemmy and posting seems OK, but I haven't digged deeper, so any recommendations warmly welcome!

Cheers

Hello !

When I try to download an image, with the new good looking (πŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌ) popup overlay, I get this error:

Cheers!

Hi everyone!

Is there a simple way to use the Lemmy authentication on a web page?

Like if abc@xyz.com clicks on a link taking them to my personally hosted webpage while they are logged in, the back end can figure out it's him doing it?

Why? I'm toying with putting one of my stupid multiplayer games online for fun so definitely nothing too serious. I'm also curious about how activitypub deals with stuff like that.

Hello,

The T-shirts from threadless has always been good quality for the price, with nice esthetics sometimes (I also buy just flat colours), what's the replacement site for tall guys (6"6) in Europe?

Hello!

After planting some parsley, it contaminated another pot, the big one in the photo, then some flat parsley started to grow in yet another pot so I transferred it there, god knows from where the chive comes from and then a "stick" started pushing, and eventually sprouted some leaves which could make it idetifyable, or so I hope!

Any idea what it might be? It feels like the beginning of a tree...

Edit: sorry, photo upload didn't work.

Just wanted to say it's a nice initiative!

BTW I stumbled upon this place because the creator (hilliard) responded to one of my comments with "judges you in Zorn", but the thread was deleted and I have no idea what my comment was πŸ˜…

I have seen all kind of claims, bit they seems to be in the future, like 1.000.000qbits or perfect error correction.

Do they have a real breakthrough or is it just undergoing advancments on a slow road?

Tried simple wheat buns.

They came out OK but the "shell" was slightly hard and I'd prefer a more aired inside, any recommendations gladly taken!

Hello!

Longtime Connect user, I would like to add a bug:

Since last version a couple of days ago, when someone posts a comment to a comment I posted in a thread, you get the usual little red number (1) and when you check out your new messages, there is their answer.

So far so good.

Now when I click the message to post an answer to their answer, and this is the bug, instead of showing my post plus the answer (in the corresponding thread) it only shows the answer!

So if the answer is "no" for example, I have no idea which one of my posts it refers to. This becomes problematic in threads with lots of posts.

HTH!

Cheers and thanks for this amazing soft!

Hi everyone, I'm Valmond and I'm working on a decentralised sharing network based on reciprocity.

It's working but I haven't found a place where to showcase it/find followers/interested people. Would a decentralised, secure, FOSS, sharing system ; you share what ever you want with whom you want by sharing back, well would that kind of idea have a place here?

Cheers

Valmond
