It took Hitler 1 year to get there. And he had already hunted down the opposition.
Trump has been there for 7 months and hasn't sent any prominent members of the opposition to jail AFAIK.
Bolton became his opposition after Trump's first term. They aren't going straight to executions, but they are starting to take action on the dissenters.

But large amounts of the American population have been Nazi-adjecent at the very least since its conception...
This is how fasicsm fails, they turn on everyone until no one is left.
Or how it consolidates under a more unified ideology. E.g. the Nazis purging the SA during the Night of the Long Knives.
In the short term sure, but they keep going and replacing anyone competent with yes men.
Depending on what example you're looking at, that "short-term" can be anywhere from years to decades.

I hate Bolton's politics as much as the next guy, but he's no dipshit. I so hoped he would bring sanity to the first Trump administration, and that's why he got fired.

Bad stuff comes out about Trump all the time, and it bounces right off. People already know he's awful, and half the country likes it that way.
